Montenegro will open an embassy in Riyadh, it was announced at a meeting between Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović and Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb.
The President’s Information Service said that the topic of the conversation was the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Montenegro.
“The two sides have confirmed their commitment to improving cooperation in all fields, especially in the areas of tourism, education and infrastructure,” the statement said.
Milatović, as stated, requested support for the opening of the Montenegrin embassy in Riyadh, for which he received a positive response from Al Khateeba.
“The opening of the Montenegrin embassy in Riyadh and intensive economic cooperation and attracting foreign investors from Saudi Arabia will further strengthen our relations and open a new development perspective, to the mutual satisfaction of the countries,” said Milatović.
He received an invitation to participate in the prestigious “Future Investment Initiative” conference, which takes place at the end of October in Riyadh.
Al Khateeb, as stated, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to support development projects that benefit the current and future growth of Montenegro.
He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s incentive support of three million USD for the development of the education sector in Montenegro.
Milatović’s office said that the interlocutors welcomed today’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of tourism between the two countries.
According to reports, they also discussed Saudi Arabia‘s candidacy for holding the EXPO World Exhibition in Riyadh in 2030.
Milatović welcomed Saudi Arabia’s candidacy for EXPO 2030 and said that Montenegro will carefully consider supporting that country.
