Montenegro’s tourism offer was presented for the first time at the annual conference of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) in the American city of Austin, the National Tourism Organization (NTO) announced.

The NTO said that it was one of the key events for the US tourism industry, which brought together over 700 American tour operators and travel agents.

An expert in the field of tourism, Robert Dee, said that he was pleased that Montenegro was presented at the conference for the first time this year.

“I can say that there is great interest in Montenegro.” Americans already know about it, but mostly through cruise ship trips or as an excursion destination. It is time for them to get to know it as a unique tourist destination, where they will spend several days. I am sure that the US market will be very important for Montenegro in the coming period”, said Dee.

The director of one of the most important tour operators in North America, Sky Vacation, Richard Krieger, agrees that destinations with a diverse offer such as Montenegro are interesting for tourists from the USA, who particularly liked the variety of offers on a small area and the combination of sea and mountains.

“Our tourists always want to experience something new, discover new places, and in this sense, Montenegro has great potential. In addition to the perfect combination of sea and mountains, you have excellent traditional cuisine and good wines, which is very attractive to our tourists, and I believe that Montenegro will be on the list of holiday destinations for tourists from the USA”, stated Krieger.

Bearing in mind the positive statistical indicators when it comes to arrivals and overnight stays from the US market, NTO has intensified promotional activities towards this market.

“According to Monstat data, for the first nine months of this year we had twice as many tourists compared to the same period of the previous year, while compared to the record 2019, a ten percent increase in the number of arrivals was registered, and a 30 percent increase in overnight stays,” they said from NTO.

NTO, as its representatives reminded, previously organized a workshop on Travel Trends in English-speaking markets, in order for the tourism industry and local tourism organizations to become familiar with the trends and readily respond to the demands of these markets in the next and coming seasons.

USTOA is a professional association founded in 1972, which today represents the largest network of American tour operators, and its members include numerous leaders in the field of tourism.

The association’s annual conference represents a unique opportunity for direct contact with decision makers in the American tourism industry, as well as learning about the latest trends in tourism around the world.
