Montenegro and Romania explore enhanced bilateral ties with a focus on air connectivity

Representatives from Montenegro and Romania recently engaged in discussions to fortify economic and tourism collaboration, with an emphasis on establishing direct air connections between the two nations. The meeting between Jakov Milatović, Montenegro’s representative, and Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu shed light on significant foreign policy priorities and mutual interests.

Milatović reiterated Montenegro’s unwavering commitment to achieving full membership in the European Union, emphasizing the alignment of the country’s policies with the EU’s common foreign and security objectives. During his visit to Bucharest, Milatović also held discussions with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. Milatović underscored the paramount importance of the European integration process in Montenegro’s foreign policy. He expressed optimism that Montenegro would attain full EU membership by 2028, a commitment he dedicated to fulfilling during his five-year term.
