Roko Tolić, the recently appointed CEO of Montenegro Airports, has suggested that it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Montenegrin government considers putting the state-owned company up for concession.

He pointed out that concession for Montenegro Airports is being considered due to the substantial financial investments required.

“It’s entirely plausible that the Montenegrin government may opt for concession,” stated Tolić, acknowledging the potential scenario and expressing reliance on the expertise of Tonči Peović, a former director of several Croatian airports, who now serves as an advisor to Montenegro Airports.

Among his initial plans, Tolić announced an expansion of flight routes to Montenegro from various European destinations.

Tolić stressed the importance of leveraging the existing talent within the company for his work, highlighting the presence of highly skilled individuals among the staff.

Emphasizing his preference for collaborative efforts, Tolić expressed optimism about the prospects of success in his new role.

“It’s highly unlikely that among the nearly 1,000 employees at Montenegro Airports, there isn’t a pool of talented individuals. I firmly believe they exist, and they deserve an opportunity,” stated Tolić during the “With Barbara” podcast.
