Good attendance during the New Year holidays, most guests in Budva

According to the latest update as of January 4th, around 17,300 tourists are currently in Montenegro, which represents a 92% increase compared to the previous year and about 38% more than in 2019, said the advisor to the director of the National Tourist Organization (NTO), Amel Dedeić. The highest number of visits, as he stated, was recorded in Budva, Herceg Novi, and Tivat.

According to the data from local tourist organizations, there are currently around 4,700 guests in hotels, Dedeić said.

• This is 51% more compared to the previous year and about 25% more compared to 2019. So, these are the current data, these are estimates – emphasized Dedeić.

Regarding the structure of tourists, Dedeić states that the highest percentage comes from the markets of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo, and, of course, Germany, Turkey, Austria, and Russia.

• We always wait for those data from Monstat, which are the most precise, but certainly, the results are summarized from them. After the Christmas and New Year holidays, we will have at least approximate data, I hope, in January, to see how it compared to previous years – he pointed out.

Dedeić emphasized that given that there were several programs throughout our coast, the visit was extremely good.

• After the New Year holidays, we conducted a one-time survey with local tourist organizations to see how satisfied they were with the visit, and about 70% said the visit was extremely good – he said.

The highest number of visits was recorded in Budva, Herceg Novi, and Tivat.

• When it comes to Budva, we have some estimates from December 30th, when the concert of Aleksandra Prijović took place, there were around 50,000 people. When it comes to Tivat, i.e., on December 31st and January 1st, during the concerts of Haris Džinović and Aco Pejović, there were around 20,000 people. When it comes to Kotor, i.e., for three nights on December 30th, 31st, and January 1st, the estimate is that there were around 80,000 people. So, all this tells us that the visit was good, and we have once again shown that we are, so to speak, at the top, at least when it comes to the region, when it comes to New Year’s celebrations – said Dedeić.
