Budva Tourism Organization (TOB) hosted successful chefs and influencers from England, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby, who run the vegan food platform BOSH! – the largest online channel in the world based on plant-based nutrition.

“The goal of the project is to present this global culinary trend and vegan diet as a healthy way of life that uses fresh plants from the authentic areas of Montenegro to citizens and guests and to promote it as part of the tourist offer of the city,” said TOB.

According to Budva survey data, requests for this type of offer are more and more frequent.
BOSH! the recipes have so far been viewed by over half a billion people, they have sold more than a million of their authentic cookbooks, and their products are found in large supermarkets around the world.

“Famous chefs came to Budva with one of the ‘assignments’, but also a challenge, to adapt recipes from traditional coastal cuisine to a vegan diet and present them to interested local chefs as part of a master class,” TOB explained.

On Tuesday, at the Vivid Blue Hotel in Budva, they prepared a dish they called “traditional pasturage tofu”, and in front of the representatives of the Montenegrin Chefs’ Association, chefs from Budva hotels and students and professors of culinary studies at the “Danilo Kiš” Junior High School in Budva, they showed all the potential of plants from the Montenegrin climate.

“Also, we tried to veganize traditional Montenegrin dishes, by replacing meat and fish with tofu, and we will cook dishes in which we will replace meat with mushrooms.” We did a demonstration for many Montenegrin bosses and now we will record a video that will be published on our YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok,” said Theasby.

Theasby and Firth, who are staying in Budva until Friday, will, in addition to their mission to show local chefs great ways to incorporate vegan meals into the menu, also visit the metropolis of Montenegrin tourism.

“Besides the importance of educating local chefs about the benefits and all the possibilities of vegetarian cuisine, the visit of famous English chefs makes a significant contribution to the promotion of Budva, since BOSH! accounts on social networks, where the gastronomy will be presented above all, but other segments of the city’s tourist offer, are followed by millions of people”, the announcement concludes.
