Why can’t Montenegro talk about some more strategic capital projects today?

It is evident that no unified political position was reached when it comes to development. The fact is that if you look at a small number of Montenegrin residents who live well, it indicates that some money can be earned, but the redistribution of that money is not good – believes Bušatlija.

Oleg Filipović believes that Montenegro has no idea how to develop. As he stated, the development of tourism is based on private investments, but the state also has something to do when it comes to tourism.

Number one is infrastructure, airport and road. We need to develop health tourism and I believe that we should find a way to return the Simo Milošević Institute to our hands. Also, we have to develop sports and congress tourism – believes Filipović. He also sees a chance in the construction of a hydroelectric power plant and the development of the IT sector.

Bušatlija says that we should not focus on megalomaniacal projects, but on those that will initially improve the bad result, which indicates that Montenegro’s exports cannot cover 15% of what is imported.
First of all, you have to count on feeding your population, on creating something that you can export, and in that case you have to take care that something brings money quickly. Montenegro imports large quantities of food that it could produce itself – says Bušatlija.

It is crucial that the state has a clear definition of development for at least 20 to 30 years, and that it sets priorities, and not, as before, but also like most of the countries of the Western Balkans, function according to the principle – from today to tomorrow.
