Ulcinj’s summer tourist season has so far fallen short of expectations, with fewer visitors compared to previous years, according to Mayor Genci Nimanbegu. He attributed the decline partly to delayed decisions and documentation earlier this year, particularly affecting users of coastal areas.

Nimanbegu noted several ongoing challenges, including water and electricity supply, city cleanliness, parking, and noise. The municipality has launched infrastructure improvements, such as installing traffic lights at the city entrance to ease congestion from day visitors and travelers arriving from Bar.

Known for its long coastline and natural beauty, Ulcinj plans to develop its beaches and protect natural resources without granting investor concessions that could harm community interests. Nimanbegu emphasized that handing over communal assets to private investors in ways that undermine public benefit is unacceptable.

With the summer season ending, the city has scheduled cultural events to promote local agricultural products and extend the tourism season.
