Traffic and key features of the Princess Ksenija highway: A year in review

The Princess Ksenija highway has seen 330.98 thousand vehicles pass through since the beginning of this year, according to data from the Monteput website.

Last year, 2.87 million vehicles traveled on the highway, while in 2023, it was 2.29 million, and in 2022, it was 1.14 million.

The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and opened to traffic the following day.

For the first seven days, the toll was free. After that, the toll rates are 1.5 euros for motorcycles, 3.5 euros for passenger cars, and 17 euros for trucks and buses.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, featuring 20 bridges along the main route, nine bridges at ramp junctions, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

The section includes four junctions with toll booths, which connect the highway to the existing road network: Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit is set at 100 kilometers per hour.
