The opening of the cable car from Kotor to Lovcen on July 13th, during the June trial run

The cable car from Kotor to Lovcen will be officially opened on July 13th, while in June it will be held during the month of June.

This was announced by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at today’s Government session. With the Martin Leitner company, which is building the Kotor – Lovćen cable car, it was agreed that the facility will be officially opened on July 13th this year. We will have test drives during June, and the opening ceremony will be related to our national holiday – said Abazović.

The cable car will be 3,918 meters long, with a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour and 40 gondolas, while the travel time will be 11 minutes.

The route starts from the location of Dub, in the immediate vicinity of the Vrmac tunnel, all the way to the location of Kuk on Lovćen.

Representatives of the Government and the Leitner – New Volvox consortium signed the concession contract for the construction of the Kotor-Lovćen cable car at the end of 2021. The work began in July last year.
