The Italian company Italsistem (ItalSystem) is interested in opening a production facility for ammunition in Montenegro, and the value of the investment is around EUR 3 million.
As announced by the Government, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense, Krsto Perović, and Marija Krgović, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Investments, met today with representatives of companies that are interested in multi-million dollar investments in Montenegro in the field of dedicated industry.
The president of ItalSystem, Lorenzo Bartolini, together with his associates, presented in more detail the investment program worth 3 million EUR, which would include the launch of an export-oriented ammunition production plant with a focus on the US market and other NATO member countries.
The representatives of the Government of Montenegro thanked for their interest and informed the interlocutors about the possibilities for investment, and the procedures for establishing potential cooperation that would contribute to the creation of new jobs and overall exports, which, as assessed, will have a positive impact on economic balances.
Italy and Montenegro have traditionally good relations, which will be significantly improved by more intensive cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the implementation of projects like this – said Perović.
The representative of Italsystem Lorenzo Bartolini thanked for the opportunity to present the project with his colleagues, and expressed his gratitude to the Government of Montenegro for organizing the meeting and interest in establishing long-term cooperation with this Italian company.
At the meeting, it was concluded that in the coming days, the communication between the two parties will be intensified in order to discuss the details of the potential investment, and the possibilities for its realization in the partnership of the Government of Montenegro and Italsystem.
