In the first seven months of this year, Montenegro’s Tax Administration collected €955.4 million in gross tax revenues, €3.3 million more than in the same period last year.

VAT revenue reached €295 million, up 21% year-on-year, while corporate income tax collection totaled €216 million, an increase of €18 million. Contributions brought in €230 million, €102 million less than last year, a drop expected due to reduced contribution rates under amendments to the Law on Mandatory Social Insurance, aimed at easing the tax burden on labor.

During the summer tourist season, the Tax Administration boosted budget revenues through measures to increase voluntary tax compliance, strengthen communication with taxpayers, and intensify inspections. Officials expect the upward revenue trend to continue in the coming months.
