The co-owner of “Vila Oliva,” Žarko Rakčević, told the RTCG Portal that as the largest minority shareholder, he will support the new Restructuring Plan for the “Dr. Simo Milošević” Institute. He emphasized that he expects a change in the government’s approach to the Institute to prevent it from facing bankruptcy again in a few years.

The General Assembly of shareholders is scheduled for Monday, February 24. Rakčević stated that he will vote in favor of the new Restructuring Plan, which was created at his request.

“I believe this is a solid foundation, and from my perspective, it’s an important idea. The Institute has a role and mission that is extremely significant for the citizens of Montenegro in terms of healthcare rehabilitation. However, we also expect changes in behavior to ensure that the Institute won’t be facing losses or bankruptcy in two or three years,” Rakčević said.

He is confident that with proper management, the Institute can play a crucial role in rehabilitating 5,000 citizens of Montenegro while also becoming a profitable entity. “The two goals are not mutually exclusive. We just need to work together, and all participants in the process must ensure that the Institute is managed in the right way, with the logic of good stewardship,” Rakčević added.

The previous Restructuring Plan for the Institute included the sale of the First Phase, the Children’s Department, the residential tower, and the E Department, as well as significant land for the construction of apartments and a shopping center.

Rakčević plans to invest up to seven million euros in the Institute.
