The Board of Directors of Srbijavoz AD Belgrade, at a meeting held on April 17th, made a decision to write off claims against Montenegro’s Railway Transport based on calculated interest on settled balances, as reported by the Ministry of Transport of Montenegro.

The total amount of claims being written off, according to the statement, is 29,636,403.90 dinars (252,048.92 EUR), and pertains to debts that Montenegro’s Railway Transport had not recorded in its business books, nor does it possess documentation to confirm the existence of this debt.

“The disputed debt was inherited by Montenegro’s Railway Transport during the division of railway companies in Montenegro, even though there was no documentation regarding the debt’s origin. The mere fact that this debt was left with Montenegro’s Railway Transport during the company’s division is sufficient evidence of the negligence of the decision-makers at the time,” the ministry’s statement emphasized.

However, through an agreement between the two companies, the issue was resolved, and a deal was reached, confirming the good cooperation between the two companies and contributing to further strengthening the relationship between the railway operators of Montenegro and Serbia, as well as enhancing regional cooperation in the transport sector, the Ministry of Transport concluded.
