Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has served 1.47 million vehicles. Last year, 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel. In 2023, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles, up from 3.07 million in 2022.
Opened in July 2005, the Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects Montenegro’s coastal region with its central area.
The construction cost was around 74 million euros, with 50 million funded by Montenegro and 24 million provided by a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
