Sozina Tunnel serves 581,000 vehicles in 2025, continues to be key link in Montenegro’s infrastructure

Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has served 581,150 vehicles.

According to data from Monteput, the company managing the Sozina Tunnel, 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year.

In 2023, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles, while in 2022, 3.07 million vehicles used the tunnel.

The Sozina Tunnel was opened in July 2005. Its construction cost approximately 74 million EUR, with 50 million EUR provided by Montenegro and 24 million EUR secured through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
