Sozina Tunnel serves 3.69 million vehicles in 2024

Since the beginning of this year, the Sozina Tunnel has handled 3.69 million vehicles, according to data from the Monteput website, which manages the tunnel. In comparison, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles in 2023, 3.07 million in 2022, and 2.61 million in 2021.

Opened in July 2005, the Sozina Tunnel was built at a cost of approximately 74 million EUR, with 50 million EUR funded by Montenegro and the remaining 24 million EUR provided by a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Stretching 4.19 kilometers, the Sozina Tunnel connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
