Sozina Tunnel serves 3.54 million vehicles in 2024, connecting Montenegro’s coast and interior

Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has served nearly 3.54 million vehicles.

According to data from Monteput, the company managing the tunnel, 3.52 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year, 3.07 million in 2022, and 2.61 million in 2021.

The Sozina Tunnel, which opened in July 2005, was built at a cost of approximately 74 million EUR, with 50 million EUR provided by Montenegro and 24 million EUR financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with central Montenegro.
