Sozina Tunnel serves 1.36 million vehicles in 2025, continuing traffic growth

Since the beginning of 2025, 1.36 million vehicles have passed through Montenegro’s Sozina Tunnel, according to Monteput. In 2024, the tunnel served 3.78 million vehicles, up from 3.52 million in 2023 and 3.07 million in 2022.

Opened in July 2005, the Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with central Montenegro. Its construction cost around €74 million, with €50 million funded by Montenegro and €24 million through a loan from the European Investment Bank.
