Sozina Tunnel sees increased traffic in 2025, connecting Montenegro’s coastal and central regions

Since the beginning of this year, the Sozina Tunnel has serviced 121,380 vehicles.

According to data from the Monteput website, which manages the tunnel, a total of 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year.

In 2023, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles, while in 2022, the figure was 3.07 million.

The Sozina Tunnel was opened in July 2005. Its construction cost approximately €74 million, with €50 million provided by Montenegro and €24 million secured through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
