Sozina Tunnel sees 2.49 million vehicles since start of 2025

Since the beginning of the year, 2.49 million vehicles have passed through the Sozina Tunnel.

According to data from Monteput, the company managing the tunnel, 3.78 million vehicles passed through Sozina last year. In 2023, the figure was 3.52 million, while in 2022 it was 3.07 million, Mina reports.

The Sozina Tunnel was opened in July 2005. Its construction cost around 74 million euros, of which 50 million was provided by Montenegro, and 24 million was financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
