Sozina Tunnel sees 1.03 million vehicles in 2025, connecting Montenegro’s regions

The Sozina Tunnel has served 1.03 million vehicles since the beginning of the year.

According to data from Monteput, the company that manages Sozina, 3.78 million vehicles passed through the tunnel last year.

In 2023, 3.52 million vehicles used the tunnel, and in 2022, 3.07 million vehicles.

Opened in July 2005, the Sozina Tunnel cost around €74 million to build. Montenegro provided €50 million, while the remaining €24 million was secured through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Sozina Tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
