Slovak Ambassador visits Central Bank of Montenegro to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support financial reforms

The Slovak Ambassador to Montenegro, Boris Gandel, visited the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) and met with Governor Irena Radović.

During the meeting, they discussed the current economic situation in Montenegro, trends in the banking sector, and prospects for further cooperation between the central banks of both countries.

Governor Radović briefed Ambassador Gandel on the CBCG’s strategic initiatives, including ongoing institutional and regulatory reforms aimed at preserving and enhancing financial stability and aligning with the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) standards.

The discussion also highlighted the successful cooperation between the Montenegrin and Slovak central banks within the regional project “Capacity Building Program for Western Balkan Central Banks to Integrate into the ESCB,” emphasizing the importance of strengthening institutional capacity and professional autonomy during Montenegro’s EU integration process.

Ambassador Gandel expressed support for the CBCG’s reform efforts and Slovakia’s readiness to continue providing expert and institutional assistance.

The meeting was described as open and constructive, with mutual commitment to deepening cooperation in monetary and financial policy. Both sides agreed that Montenegro and Slovakia enjoy strong, friendly relations and excellent bilateral cooperation, with potential for further economic partnership development.
