The contract for the Gvozd wind power plant will be signed in the next two weeks, which will officially start the construction project, announced the State Secretary of the Ministry of Capital Investments.
As he stated at yesterday’s Government session, the preconditions for signing the contract with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have finally been created.

We had small legal vicissitudes, it was a legal octopus, but we managed to get out of that situation and to protect the state interest in the best way – he said. According to him, it will be the first state-owned energy production plant after 1982. It is about a wind power plant with a capacity of 54 megawatts worth around EUR 82 million – said Šahmanović.

At the session, the government adopted information on the need to conclude an annex to the contract in order to implement the project for the construction of the Gvozd wind farm.

The information states that the company Green Gvozd from Podgorica received approval from the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) to connect the Gvozd Power Plant on May 20, 2020, and that the connection of the wind power plant to the transmission system requires the reconstruction and expansion of TS Krnovo owned by the project company Krnovo Green Energy from Nikšić, as well as the construction of a new transmission field.

This is why there was a need to conclude an annex to the contract on the lease of land and the construction of a wind farm at the location of Krnovo – it was clarified.

In this way, as stated in the Government announcement, it will be possible to connect the Gvozd Power Plant in accordance with the consent issued by CGES, which will fulfill all the legal conditions for the start of the construction of this extremely important energy facility.

In this sense, the Government accepted Annex No. 8 of the contract on the lease of land and the construction of a wind farm and the contract on the regulation of rights and obligations – they added.
