Retail boycott on leads to significant drop in sales across Montenegro

The boycott of retail chains on Saturday, February 8, led to a 30.23% decrease in sales compared to Saturday, February 1.

According to data from the Tax Administration, which was provided to the media today, the total number of receipts and the amount of sales decreased at the national level, with a similar situation recorded in all regions of the country.

The most significant drop was in the central region, where the decrease reached 35.86%. During this period, a total of 191,643 receipts were registered, representing a decrease of 40,706 receipts, or 17.52%.

The total amount of sales nationwide dropped from €2,790,909.31 to €2,092,567.46, a reduction of €698,341.85, or 25.02%.

In the northern region, the number of receipts decreased by 8,543, or 29.86%. The sales amount dropped by €119,994.42, representing a 37.87% decline.

The boycott was least followed in the southern region, where the decrease in sales was 21.5%.
