Princeza Ksenija highway records over 1.29 million vehicles in 2025

Since the beginning of this year, 1.29 million vehicles have passed through the Princeza Ksenija highway, according to Monteput data.

In the previous years, 2.87 million vehicles passed in 2021, 2.29 million in 2023, and 1.14 million in 2022.

The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and opened to traffic the following day.

Toll was free for the first seven days. Since then, toll fees are €1.5 for motorcycles, €3.5 for passenger vehicles, and €17 for trucks and buses.

The first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers long, featuring 20 bridges on the main route, nine bridges on interchange ramps, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

There are four interchanges with toll booths connecting the highway to existing roads: Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit on this section is 100 kilometers per hour.
