The port of Risan is planned as a city and nautical tourism port with a maximum of 150 pontoon berths. It is defined as a port of local importance, the property and legal relations are regulated, so there are no obstacles for its concession. A study was also carried out which showed that EUR 8 million should be invested in infrastructure equipment and maintenance of the port.

– Within the port of nautical tourism, and according to the detailed study of the location, it will be necessary for the future concessionaire to provide a space of 30 communal berths for the local population. The spatial plan of special purpose for the coastal area identified the port of Risan as a marina for which it is assumed that there is a relatively large interest of boaters, but due to certain environmental restrictions, extreme caution is needed during planning and construction due to UNESCO protection.

In order for the concession deed to have justified expectations, a company was previously engaged that prepared the Elaborate on the construction condition of the Port of Risan, the necessary investments in infrastructure equipment and maintenance of the port.

– It is estimated that the investment is over EUR 8 million – specifies Mikijelj.

The conclusion of the Government of Montenegro was submitted in September 2022, which tasked the state company JPMD to start the process of giving the port a concession.
