Montenegro’s Sozina Tunnel serves 2.64 million vehicles year-to-date

Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has served 2.64 million vehicles.

The tunnel, which opened in July 2005, spans 4.19 kilometers and connects Montenegro’s coastal region with the central part of the country. Construction cost around €74 million, with €50 million funded by Montenegro and €24 million provided through a loan from the European Investment Bank.

Traffic through the tunnel has grown steadily over recent years, with 3.78 million vehicles in 2024, 3.52 million in 2023, and 3.07 million in 2022.
