Montenegro’s GDP per capita at 51% of EU average, regional comparison shows

Montenegro’s gross domestic product (GDP) per capita stands at 51% of the EU average, according to data from EUROSTAT.

In the region, Slovenia and Croatia, both EU member states, rank ahead of Montenegro. Serbia’s GDP per capita is less than 50% of the EU average, while North Macedonia follows with just over 40% of the EU average.

At the bottom of the list are Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, where the GDP per capita is only 36% of the EU average.

As for the highest GDP per capita in the eurozone, Luxembourg, Ireland, and the Netherlands lead the rankings.

The latest EUROSTAT data shows minimal changes compared to previous figures published in June 2024, when Montenegro’s GDP per capita was 52% of the EU average.
