Montenegro’s total foreign trade in the first ten months of the year reached 3.88 billion EUR, according to preliminary data from Monstat, marking a 3.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
Monstat reported that exports amounted to 479.8 million EUR, a decrease of 15% from the previous year. Imports, however, totaled 3.4 billion EUR, reflecting a 6.3% increase.
The coverage of imports by exports was 14.1%, lower than last year’s 17.6%. The export structure is dominated by mineral fuels and lubricants, valued at 109 million EUR, with electricity accounting for 75.4 million EUR and other items.
In terms of imports, the largest share is occupied by machinery and transport equipment, totaling 823 million EUR, with road vehicles making up 313.2 million EUR.
Serbia was Montenegro’s largest export partner, with 138.9 million EUR, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina (30.3 million EUR) and Slovenia (27.8 million EUR). On the import side, Serbia led with 589.2 million EUR, followed by China (398.3 million EUR) and Germany (334.1 million EUR).
The highest trade volumes were recorded with the signatories of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and the European Union (EU).
