The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue, the Employment Agency, and the Employers’ Union have signed a Cooperation Agreement, which, as stated, represents an important step toward creating positive changes that will directly impact the labor market and the business sector.
This was announced by Ivana Đođić, Acting Secretary of the Ministry, David Perčobić, Director of the Employment Agency and Slobodan Mikavica, President of the Employers’ Union, following the signing of the Agreement.
The goal of this Agreement, as stated in the joint announcement, is to improve labor market efficiency, reduce unemployment and strengthen the connection between employers and unemployed individuals. In this way, more favorable conditions for employment will be created, while the competitiveness of the workforce in Montenegro will increase.
Đođić stated that the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Dialogue is dedicated to creating conditions that will enable the quicker integration of the unemployed into the workforce and strengthen the country’s economy.
“The cooperation between these three institutions plays a key role in the further development of the labor market and the economy, enabling faster and more efficient responses to market needs, as well as creating new employment opportunities,” said Đođić.
Perčobić noted that the Agreement opens new opportunities for the unemployed, who will find it easier to get jobs, while employers will have easier access to the workforce they need.
“This is an important step towards modernizing the labor market because, through cooperation with the Employers’ Union, the Ministry and the Employment Agency can significantly improve employment conditions and increase the chances of the unemployed in relevant sectors,” Perčobić stated.
The Agreement also allows for the efficient exchange of information and analysis, which will contribute to a better understanding of the actual needs of the labor market and the qualifications that employers are seeking the most.
Mikavica expressed confidence that today’s event is a crucial moment in their efforts to improve the business environment and increase the competitiveness of the workforce in Montenegro.
“Through joint projects and activities, we aim to create a more efficient and faster labor market that will meet the needs of both employers and the unemployed,” said Mikavica.
The signed Agreement will also enable the organization of job fairs, the promotion of lifelong education, and the development of new online platforms to connect unemployed individuals with employers, further contributing to reducing unemployment and strengthening the labor market in Montenegro.
