Montenegro sees significant growth in gambling revenues in January 2025

The Directorate for Games of Chance has announced that total revenues from games of chance and prize games in January 2025 amounted to €3,034,623.64, representing an 84.76% increase compared to January 2024.

During the same period, revenues from casino games saw a rise of 140.79%, totaling €318,331.86. Additionally, revenue from betting games amounted to €796,182.72, according to the Directorate’s statement.

It was also reported that total revenues from online games of chance and other telecommunication methods reached €1,291,974.14, marking an impressive increase of 659.98% compared to January 2024.

Furthermore, revenue from games of chance in slot clubs grew by 34.98%, reaching €626,702.56. This significant growth continues the positive trend from the previous year, when total revenues from games of chance rose by 51.27% annually, the Directorate noted.

The results confirm, as stated, the correctness of the actions taken by the Directorate for Games of Chance, which are fully in line with established policies and strongly supported by the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Montenegro.

After the successful implementation of the new information system and improvements in monitoring mechanisms, the Directorate will continue to work on strengthening budget revenues and further enhancing cooperation with relevant institutions to ensure sustainability and transparency in the area of games of chance. Special focus will be placed on protecting minors and other vulnerable groups from the negative effects of gambling, the Directorate concluded.
