Montenegro reports strong growth in customs revenues for August 2025

Customs revenues in Montenegro for August 2025 totaled €137.98 million, an increase of €8.41 million or 6.49 percent compared to the same period last year, exceeding the planned revenue for the month by €793,400, the Customs Administration reported.

From January to August 2025, gross customs revenue reached €926.83 million, up €74.16 million or 8.7 percent from the previous year, surpassing the planned revenue by €21.64 million, or 2.4 percent.

All types of duties saw revenue growth. The largest increase came from import VAT, collected at €606.43 million, up €41.93 million or 7.43 percent year-on-year. Excise duties amounted to €271.93 million, an increase of €25.18 million or 10.21 percent.

Customs duties collected totaled €46.33 million, up €6.87 million or 17.28 percent, while the coffee tax generated €1.96 million, an increase of 8.46 percent. Other revenues amounted to €180,500.
