Montenegro records increase in industrial product prices

Prices of imported industrial products in Montenegro rose by 5.4% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to data from the national statistical office, Monstat.

Import prices in manufacturing increased by 5.4% year on year, while the mining and quarrying sector recorded a more modest rise of 0.3%.

Compared with the first quarter of 2026, imported industrial product prices were 4.7% higher. Manufacturing prices increased by the same percentage, while prices in mining and quarrying remained unchanged.

Export producer prices also continued to rise. In the second quarter, they were 3.8% higher than during the corresponding period of 2025. Mining and quarrying recorded annual growth of 5.3%, while manufacturing export prices increased by 3.7%.

On a quarterly basis, export producer prices rose by 0.9%. Prices in manufacturing advanced by 0.9%, while the mining and quarrying sector registered a smaller increase of 0.5%.

The figures indicate that price pressures affected both imported industrial goods and products manufactured in Montenegro for foreign markets.
