On August 22, 2025, 85 employees of Montenegro Rail Infrastructure—including train dispatchers, traffic dispatchers, and TK dispatchers—halted work to draw attention to ongoing issues with management, according to a union statement. The employees emphasize that they are the backbone of the railway system, and without their work, neither passenger nor freight traffic can operate.

The union accuses management of obstructing operations, ignoring staff concerns, and misleading the public with claims of “political obstruction.” Employees say their sole request is a dialogue with management, in line with labor laws and international conventions, and deny issuing any ultimatums.

They criticize management for refusing to engage in discussions, abandoning the office while leaving the workforce without answers, and targeting individual employees to discredit them personally. The union also challenges management’s budget-related arguments, noting that financial solutions exist, such as collecting outstanding debts owed to the railway company.

The employees stress that their action is meant to protect the company, passengers, and the broader economy. They demand respect, proper negotiation, and fulfillment of their legal rights, rejecting manipulation, political labeling, and obstruction from management.
