More than 100,000 visitors visited Portonovi during the holidays, which showed that the resort, with a well-prepared program, can become the center of events in this part of Montenegro during all seasons.

“The holidays have come to an end, and thus this year’s successful holiday season – Sparkling Season in Portonovi – has ended. The beautiful Christmas tree, which was recognizable by the resort for more than a month, was dismantled last week, the houses that were part of the holiday bazaar were closed, and the rest of the decoration is slowly being removed”,they said from Portonovi.

They added that Portonovi, although predominantly a summer destination associated with the beach and vacations in the sun, has shown that, with a well-curated program, it can be the center of events in this part of Montenegro during all seasons.

“In addition to one of the largest Christmas trees in this part of Europe, a magic show (Light, laser & music show), as well as beautiful decorations, visitors also enjoyed the festive bazaar with the best selection of delicacies. This year’s bazaar delighted with its food offering, from pancakes, sausages, burgers, fritters, as well as the indispensable mulled wine and brandy that warmed the visitors in the cold winter days”, the announcement states.

Portonovi said that the bazaar was an excellent opportunity for local restaurateurs to expand their offer and introduce themselves to visitors. Kantina 65, Friends house, One&Only Portonovi, Koffein, Chefs of Boka, Auntie’s house, Bel Paese, Tampa house and Santa Clause Station (Idea) participated in the bazaar.

“On December 31, visitors enjoyed the Square and Maison du Monde restaurants, as well as the Koffein coffee shop, and exactly at midnight, the sky above Portonovi was decorated with spectacular fireworks, which continued a long-standing tradition attended by hundreds of visitors,” they reminded.
The reception, they added, was also organized at the One&Only Portonovi hotel. A five-course gala dinner was organized in the La Veranda restaurant with the musical accompaniment of Nika Turković and her band, while the guests enjoyed themselves with a DJ in the Tapasake club. During December, the youngest ones were not forgotten either, and creative workshops, performances and parties in the newly opened conference and event space delighted children and parents, and there was a demand for more space.

This year, various activities were organized for visitors, and sports enthusiasts enjoyed the New Year’s race on January 2. The race brought together 100 adult competitors and 100 children, among them well-known athletes, Željko Dabović from AK Sparta and Slađana Pejović from AK Nikšić, who triumphed. After the big concerts of the group Perper, Klapa Shufit, Amira Medunjanin and local bands and DJs, the season was closed by the big concert of Petr Graš on the crowded Marina Square.

In Portonovi, new events and activities are expected from spring for residents, but also for guests of the resort who come from all over the world.

“The increasing interest in staying both in Portonovi and Herceg Novi during the winter months, as well as the millions of views on Portonovi’s social networks, show us that coastal towns, with a variety of offers, can be a destination that people choose not only during the summer months, but throughout the whole year”, the announcement states.
