Montenegrin tourism is competitive, but it is necessary, through collaboration, to extend the stay of tourists and better position the country in distant markets, said the Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić.

She met with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), Sergio Piaceri, and informed him that Montenegro is highly interested in collaborating with Mediterranean countries and insists on strengthening regional relations in the field of tourism.

Kordić mentioned that she has already had discussions on this topic with several neighboring countries.

Piaceri praised the initiative and suggested informing PAM member states, which could also establish similar agreements with Montenegro.

Both Kordić and Piaceri agreed that Montenegro, with its natural wealth, must work on improving infrastructure and air connectivity.

Kordić emphasized that the goal is also to develop tourism in northern Montenegro, where there are many investment opportunities.

Piaceri pointed out that the development of health tourism is another opportunity to attract foreign investors, noting that there is interest in this area.

It was agreed that meetings with relevant stakeholders will be organized during the PAM session in Rome at the end of the month, according to the statement.
