Montenegro is anticipating that passenger numbers at its airports will surpass three million for the first time, following the arrival of Wizz Air, Transport Minister Maja Vukićević said.

“In addition to the announced routes, Wizz Air will maintain its existing flights, totaling 23, and will gradually introduce new ones, making Montenegro even more accessible and better connected,” Vukićević told Borba.

She emphasized that the agreement is of great importance not only for tourism but for the overall Montenegrin economy.

Vukićević also noted that comparisons with regional countries such as Serbia, Albania, or Croatia are not realistic due to their much larger markets.

“All three countries have granted concessions for their main airports, while Montenegro is currently developing a model that will ensure sustainable long-term growth,” she added.
