Since the beginning of the year until May 12, nearly 85,000 tourists have visited Montenegro’s National Parks (NPCG), marking a 28% increase compared to last year, as announced by the NPCG. The company reported a 65% increase in ticket sales revenue during this period compared to the same period last year, attributing the rise to the growing interest in visiting protected areas.

Vladimir Martinović, the director of NPCG, stated that field data indicates a rise in the number of visits and ticket sales revenue, which he sees as the result of the company’s responsible operations. He expressed confidence that the positive trends from last year will continue into this year.

To celebrate Independence Day, entry to Durmitor, Biogradska Gora, Skadar Lake, Lovćen, and Prokletije National Parks will be free on May 21st. This offers citizens the opportunity to spend the holiday in nature, enjoying activities such as kayaking, boating, hiking, rafting, mountaineering, and cycling.

Martinović emphasized the efforts of all employees in the parks and the Administration, which have contributed to surpassing last year’s records. He expects this year to be another successful business year, building on the achievements of the previous one.

He highlighted the company’s focus on nature preservation, including recent efforts to educate the public about the harmful effects of using quads, motocross bikes, and drones in national parks. Additionally, fishing bans in Skadar Lake National Park have been enforced to combat illegal fishing.

NPCG has partnered with socially responsible companies and NGOs to protect natural assets in the parks and promote them. Notable partners include Montenegrin Telekom, Montenegrin Commercial Bank, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Eko Fond, and Grawe Insurance, among others.

NPCG reminded citizens of the benefits of purchasing an annual pass for all five national parks, allowing unlimited visits throughout the year for €13.5. Additionally, the Cashback promotion, offering a 50% discount on the first two thousand tickets purchased with CKB Visa cards, is ongoing on their website.
