Crnogorski Telekom reported an increase in both revenue and operating profit for the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Noteworthy growth was observed in the mobile telecommunications sector, along with strong performance in fixed internet and television services.
Despite operating in a highly competitive telecommunications market in Montenegro, Crnogorski Telekom has achieved the highest level of customer satisfaction for six consecutive months. This marks the best result ever recorded by the company, based on measurements by an independent international agency using globally comparable methodologies.
The company’s financial performance for the first half of 2024 demonstrates stable trends. The positive developments in retail drove a 6.1% increase in revenue compared to the first half of the previous year. Operating profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), after accounting for leases and excluding special impacts, reached €15.1 million, representing a 4.4% increase from the same period last year. The company’s extensive 5G network and high customer satisfaction have contributed to an 8% growth in the postpaid customer base compared to the previous year. This trend indicates a continued stable increase in postpaid users and reinforces the company’s strong position in a competitive market. Additionally, the number of mobile internet users grew by 3% compared to the first half of 2023.
Crnogorski Telekom’s optical network has expanded to cover an additional 8,800 homes, a 7% increase, bringing the total coverage to approximately 139,000 homes. The number of users on the optical network also increased by 12% compared to the first half of the previous year. This growth is attributed to significant financial investments by Crnogorski Telekom in expanding the optical network, a strategy the company has consistently pursued over the years.
