Ryanair reduces Podgorica routes to summer seasonal only, one destination remains for winter

Ryanair will convert three of its year-round routes from Podgorica into summer-only routes, meaning the budget airline will maintain only one destination from the Montenegrin capital during the upcoming winter season. This change, which begins on October 27 and continues until March 30 of the following year, is reported by EX-YU Aviation.

This adjustment continues the trend from last winter when Ryanair similarly downgraded three routes to summer service only.

According to EX-YU Aviation, “Ryanair will cease operations on routes from Berlin, Krakow, and Gdansk after this winter. These destinations will join Charleroi, Zagreb, and Manchester, which were also downgraded to summer routes last year. Consequently, Ryanair will operate only four weekly flights between London and Podgorica during the 2024/25 winter season.”

Roko Tolić, the new General Director of Montenegro Airports, has acknowledged the issue and plans to persuade Ryanair to reconsider this decision. He is scheduled to meet with the airline’s management in Dublin soon.

“We are hopeful for a positive outcome, but more information will be available in October. Our discussions aim to halt this trend and strengthen our future relationship. I don’t have a magic wand; changes won’t happen overnight. Nevertheless, we are working diligently every day to prepare for the upcoming season. We offer airlines multimillion-euro discounts each year,” Tolić stated.
