Retail trade turnover in Montenegro reached 2.89 billion euros last year, as indicated by preliminary data from Monstat.
According to the statement, the largest portion of the total turnover came from food products, accounting for 40.4% of the overall retail trade turnover. The statistics on retail trade encompass the turnover of enterprises primarily engaged in retail activities.
Monstat clarified that the survey is based on a sample and includes businesses categorized in retail trade, excluding those dealing with motor vehicles and motorcycles.
The sample covers all large and medium-sized enterprises, while small enterprises are selected through random sampling. Statisticians explained that retail trade turnover represents the value of goods sold by companies to end consumers, including individuals for personal consumption and household use, as well as to businesses and citizens for their operational needs.
