The nautical season in Bar has achieved notable success, with the Marina reaching 95% occupancy. This summer has also set a record for transit dockings, according to Slađana Perišić, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors at AD “Marina,” in an interview with Radio Bar and Bar Info.

Perišić highlighted that the Marina’s high occupancy rate and record number of transit dockings have significantly boosted revenue, benefiting both the Marina and the local economy. She noted that the Marina attracts high-paying clients from countries including Russia, Germany, the UK, Poland and Italy.

The Marina is home to numerous luxury yachts, ranging from 30 to 40 meters in length, including models from Heesen, Viareggio and Solemar. Its prime geographic location is a key factor in its appeal compared to other regional marinas.

Located in one of Montenegro’s most picturesque coastal areas, near the historic city center and commercial zone, the Marina is the largest nautical and tourist center at the Adriatic Sea‘s entrance, 104 nautical miles from Otranto. With 270 sunny days per year, it offers an ideal setting for active vacations, such as hiking, kayaking, and exploring cultural and historical sites.

Recent investments in the Marina have enhanced its infrastructure, including dock upgrades and solar lighting installation. The entire Marina is under 24/7 video surveillance, and a new service center has been established with a 100-ton crane and additional facilities. It provides 660 sea berths, dry storage with certified cradles, and has resumed fuel station operations after a break, meeting all required standards. The Marina also includes a service hangar and parking space.

Perišić acknowledged ongoing issues, such as the lack of communal berths for local boat owners and the absence of a dedicated fishing boat marina. She hopes that with government support, solutions will be found for relocating fishing vessels and constructing a fishing port.

Regarding the communal berths, she anticipates further efforts to address this issue in line with the business plan for the year. Additionally, there is a long-standing property-legal dispute involving the Marina, the Port of Bar, and the company ‘Morsko dobro.’ Perišić is optimistic about resolving these issues for the benefit of the state and minority shareholders.

AD Marina Bar, which is majority state-owned, has consistently shown positive performance, with a 25% increase in berth service revenues and a 30% increase in parking service revenues in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

Perišić affirmed that the company is meeting its obligations to the state, suppliers, and employees, describing AD Marina Bar as a stable and liquid company. She expressed confidence that the management and Board of Directors will continue to achieve improved results and enhance operations. Recently appointed executive director Captain Danko Mirković, a naval engineer with extensive experience, is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s future success.
