Energy Minister Saša Mujović has today requested the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) to initiate the removal process of the Board of Directors of EPCG Solar Construction.

Minister Mujović expressed surprise at the decisions made by the EPCG Solar Construction Board, noting that these decisions not only deviate from the agreed principles of operation discussed in regular meetings at the Ministry of Energy but also contradict the fundamental cooperation principles between the Ministry and energy entities.

“The EPCG Solar Construction Board dismissed Executive Director Valerija Saveljić without any justification regarding potential work shortcomings, which raises suspicions of a politically motivated dismissal. The Ministry, as well as the Minister personally, do not wish to be involved in this. Additionally, EPCG will be obligated to pay a substantial financial compensation to Ms. Saveljić due to the contract termination. This is particularly concerning given the upcoming 2025 and the significant costs EPCG will face,” the statement said.

It was also noted that such decisions are surprising given the agreement to review company business arrangements and results for the first half of the year in September, after which further actions would be taken regarding staffing and business plan formulation.

“Given these issues, Minister Mujović has initiated the procedure for removing the EPCG Solar Construction Board of Directors as a logical and necessary step following the aforementioned deficiencies in this body’s work,” the Ministry of Energy emphasized.
