Controversy surrounds potential transformation of Lazure Port into Marina

Lazure Port in Meljine could soon undergo a transformation into a hub for maritime tourism, as per the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, which asserts that all necessary criteria have been met, clearing the path for governmental review. However, local fishermen in Herceg Novi paint a different picture, claiming years-long struggles in obtaining permissions to dock their vessels at this site.

They argue that Imperio Holding Limited, the investor, has failed to uphold their end of the agreement with the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management by not constructing a fishing harbor or providing moorings for fishermen. This discrepancy led them to escalate the matter to the Special State Prosecutor’s Office back in 2021.
