Monteput has finalized a contract with Via Project from Podgorica for the conceptual design of the Podgorica-Tuzi expressway (Božaj), covering a distance of 23 kilometers. The contract is valued at €90,992, including VAT, with a deadline of four months for completion.

This expressway construction aims to improve traffic connectivity between Podgorica and Tuzi, facilitating a link between Montenegro and Albania. Furthermore, it will provide a direct connection to the Bar-Boljare highway, enhancing regional connectivity and promoting economic cooperation and development.

The objective of the technical documentation is to thoroughly investigate various route options to select the optimal alignment for the stretch from the Smokovac interchange to the Božaj border crossing. The conceptual design will accurately determine the route, define its technical specifications, and integrate this corridor into Montenegro’s Spatial Plan through 2040.

Ongoing public calls and tender processes for project documentation on several segments are foundational for the future construction of around 260 kilometers of highways and approximately 220 kilometers of expressways. These initiatives are part of five development corridors identified by the Government of Montenegro, encompassing 18 segments of highways and expressways.
