Government allocates €510 million for new airline routes to boost tourism

Tonći Janović, a member of the Movement for Europe Now (PES), praised the government’s decision to allocate €510 million for new airline routes, foreseeing significant economic benefits and growth stimulation across various sectors, as well as creating new opportunities for local businesses and communities.

During a telephone session on Saturday, the government approved the National Tourist Organization (NTO) to use €510,000 from a designated fund for incentive measures aimed at increasing tourist traffic from key markets through organized air transport.

Janović emphasized that these incentive measures represent a visionary approach by the government to recognize tourism’s pivotal role in Montenegro’s economy.

“It’s important to highlight that these measures are implemented in collaboration with tour operators through joint marketing campaigns, which will undoubtedly contribute to a significant increase in tourist arrivals,” said Janović.

According to him, Montenegro will significantly enhance its connectivity with key markets through this financial support specifically earmarked for new airline routes, increased frequencies of existing routes, and extended flying seasons.

“The allocation of these funds is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, stimulate growth across various sectors, and create new opportunities for local businesses and communities,” Janović noted.

He expressed full support for the government’s proactive steps, emphasizing that these initiatives will not only improve Montenegro’s accessibility but also extend the tourist season, thereby reinforcing Montenegro’s reputation as a premier tourist destination.

“This is another testament to the government’s dedication to strengthening Montenegro’s tourism industry,” Janović concluded, expressing optimism about the positive impacts this initiative will have on the Montenegrin economy.
