Government allocates additional €4.78 million for supplementary works on Rožaje-Špiljani road

The government has allocated an additional €4.78 million (or approximately €5.8 million including VAT) for supplementary works on the Rožaje – Špiljani main road. These funds have been secured through a budget rebalancing for this year.

At its most recent session, the government approved information regarding the signing of Amendment No. 3 to the contract (No. 01-13344/1) dated January 9, 2020, related to the reconstruction of the main roads: Lot 1 – rehabilitation and improvement of the M-2 Rožaje-Špiljani road section. The text of the amendment was also accepted.

The information highlights that the geodetic and geological foundations prepared for the project did not align with the actual conditions on the ground, leading to frequent changes in previously completed technical solutions. Additionally, changes were made to the regulations on traffic signage and road equipment, tightening the requirements for the installation of guardrails.

As a result, there was a need for additional and unforeseen works totaling €4,788,931 excluding VAT, or €5,794,606 including VAT. The necessary funds for completing the project have been provided through this year’s budget rebalancing, ensuring full implementation of the project, according to government officials.
