Rudine Energy Park solar power plant in Nikšić: A key step toward energy independence for Montenegro

The construction of the Rudine Energy Park solar power plant in Nikšić, being realized by Swiss Green Energy Holding, marks a significant step toward energy independence and sustainability for Montenegro, stated Janko Odović, the Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property.

At a meeting with representatives of Swiss Green Energy Holding, Odović emphasized that this project will not only enhance clean energy production but also bring numerous benefits to the local community, including the creation of new jobs and infrastructure improvements.

“The Rudine Energy Park solar power plant represents a significant contribution to our efforts to achieve energy transition and sustainable development,” said Odović.

The project will significantly contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and promote a more environmentally friendly future. With the support of Swiss Green Energy Holding, Montenegro is expected to position itself as a regional leader in renewable energy.

Representatives from Swiss Green Energy Holding expressed their satisfaction with the collaboration with Montenegrin institutions and emphasized their commitment to advancing technological innovations in the renewable energy sector.

They added that the Rudine Energy Park project is secured by a long-term lease agreement with all landowners for a period of 35 years and that all necessary urban planning and technical conditions have already been met. Currently, efforts are focused on securing a grid connection, which will enable construction to begin as soon as possible.

The Ministry noted that the Rudine Energy Park solar power plant marks the beginning of a new era of clean energy in Montenegro, ensuring more sustainable development and an environmentally friendly future for all its citizens.
