Montenegro could greatly benefit from finding products for the Chinese market

Montenegro stands to gain significantly by identifying products to offer to the vast Chinese market, stated Chen Zhou, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

During a discussion in the Montenegrin Parliament with MPs from the parliamentary majority, led by Chair of the Constitutional Committee and Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić, Zhou expressed his pleasure in discussing the progress of relations between Montenegro and China.

According to a statement from the Parliament, Zhou emphasized that the Chinese people have a special friendly relationship with Montenegro and that promoting economic development is the best way to further strengthen these ties.

He noted that the Chinese market is enormous and that Montenegro would benefit greatly by identifying products to offer it. Zhou added that it would be very important to meet in China next time to discuss these and many other topics, where he would have the pleasure of reciprocating the hospitality.

Kordić noted that the numerous reforms happening in China are noteworthy and is pleased that the country is firmly committed to further strengthening its existing, high-quality bilateral relations with Montenegro.

She highlighted that Montenegro is in a new phase of social and political life following the reconstruction of the 44th Government and is now fully dedicated to economic development and cooperation.

Kordić emphasized that Montenegro and China have traditionally good relations, and it is crucial to further enhance these ties.

MP Jelena Božović from the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) stated that the government’s reconstruction has achieved even greater stability and ensured better cooperation between the parliament and the government. She added that Montenegro expects successful and fruitful cooperation with China, especially in the areas of infrastructure and tourism.

NSD MP Vaso Obradović expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, highlighting that there is much to learn from China and its people, especially in green energy and sustainable development, citing projects like the Solar City in Nikšić and the EPCG Solar Project.

MP Jovan Subotić from the Europe Now Movement stated that he comes from Herceg Novi, which has a sister city in China. He also touched upon potential projects related to the westernmost Montenegrin city, which are part of the shared vision of Montenegro and China.

Civis MP Maja Vučelić stated that cooperation between the two countries is very important. She particularly highlighted that the government’s reconstruction has created unprecedented stability in Montenegro’s history, which sends a positive signal to all investors, making them feel safe and welcome in the country.
